Sue, what a fabulous read, as always! Sounds like you are indeed thoroughly enjoying your time at the mine. :o) So glad your back keeping us all up to date with your amazing adventures!! Wonderful pics of the Perenties/bungarras - such awesome creatures. I look forward to reading the new diary entries once again.

It was just SO good to catch up with you (and all the others!) last night - what a terrific night it was!! Most of my pics turned out great - hope yours do too. Look forward to seeing them when you get a chance to post them.

Keep in touch, OK! May your return to Bulgaria and the 'big hoose' be everything and so much more than you could wish for!!

Love,
Anne-Marie xx

Hello. I stumbled across your site by accident and was excited that I took a second to look. My mother and my friends have started doing a ton of research to locate apartments in Italy and what to rent and what not. Anyways, thanks for the scoop - happy I found it by mistake and will share. Using research I quickly began compiling information about Italian apartments for my blog.

Oh My God, I remember you agonising over whether to take the job in Geraldton and now you're back at it but with a different agenda. How are you Sue, miss the updates from Budgie now that he's not at Booka. Are you back in Perth or staying in Bulgaria for awhile?
Love to catch up....xxx

Hi

I am a West Aussie, currently living in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. I believe you recently spoke on the phone with my brother, Bob, who lives in Geralton. During that conversation you asked him why I chose Bulgaria. In your dialogue above, you have answered part of your question when you speak of the overwhelming hospitality which Bulgarian show visitors to their country. I have a city apartment, also a lovely country house in a small rural village and the neighbours are always showing up with veges, wine, fruit and meat [if they have just killed an animal]. One would never starve in this country.
I love the wide open spaces and the fact that you can go anywhere for a walk and not get yelled at by an angry landowner. I have spent quite a bit of time in and around Sozopol and really like it there, especially the old part of the town. In and around the Plovdiv district there are very many Thracian sites and tombs to explore and the Bulgarians are just beginning to develope facilities for tourists around these locations.

Next time you are in Bulgaria, please look me up.
Kind regards
Barry Javens
